Junior Year Award

The following award has been established by the MT/CLS Alumni Affiliates as a means of granting recognition for outstanding Clinical Laboratory Science/Cytotechnology Program students at Wayne State University.

This award is presented to the Junior (first professional) Year student who:

  • Maintains an academic honor point average of 2.8 or greater during the year (i.e., Junior Year only).
  • Has completed all the Junior Year course work.
  • Expresses professionalism and, in the judgment of the Program faculty is the best candidate for the award.

The recipient of this award will be determined at the beginning of the Senior Year (Fall Semester). The name of the recipient will be submitted to the Awards Chairperson of the MT/CLS Alumni Affiliates (MT/CLS AA) and the following will be presented to the Honor Student of the Year by an MT/CLS AA officer.

  • Plaque describing criteria for selection. This plaque will be inscribed with the student's name and will be placed in the Conference Room on the Fourth floor CLS suite.
  • Small plaque which the student may keep.
  • Twenty-five dollar monetary award.
