Biography
Regina Parnell MS, OTR is a Senior Lecturer in the Occupational Therapy program. She earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Biology from Loyola University in Chicago. She has a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Rush University, also in Chicago. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Medical Sociology at Wayne State University. The health outcomes of "Hurried" African American women is the focus of her dissertation research.
Regina has worked primarily in mental health settings but emphasizes a holistic approach to assessment and treatment. As a Senior Lecturer, she teaches a broad range of courses which include both psychiatric and physical disability content. She utilizes her research interests in wellness, prevention and health disparities to inform curriculum requirements content and enhance classroom experiences.
