About the Department
The Department of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State University has 33 faculty members and 3 staff members. David Tomasovitch is the Administrative Assistant for the department. Staff members include Kelly Hicks who provides general secretarial support to the department. Tamra Samuels who is the Program Specialist and provides support to the experiential portion of the PharmD program, as well as providing general secretarial support. And Oschiyonna Hill who is the Work Study student in the department.

Mission
The mission of the Department of Pharmacy Practice is to:
- Prepare students for entry into the pharmacy profession in an environment that supports and inspires critical thinking, life-long learning, leadership and professionalism.
- Create and disseminate knowledge related to the rational use, delivery and access to drugs and other therapeutic modalities.
- Provide service and leadership to the university community, the profession of pharmacy and the public related to education and the optimal use of medications.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State University is pleased to offer a Community Pharmacy Residency program in partnership with RiteAid Pharmacy beginning in July 2011.
